We test our FlexiHealth® sanitary screen

As manufacturers of protective screens for customer service, we are under the obligation to meet certain minimum quality requirements in order to market our products.

At 360 Protective the level of demand is higher. We periodically carry out exhaustive internal and external quality controls to evaluate their properties and performance.

With this commitment we have resorted to an external test by a specialized laboratory to measure the effectiveness of our FlexiHealth® medical partition.

AIDIMME, Technological Institute of Metalworking, Furniture, Wood, Packaging, and Finishing was in charge of carrying out the STUDY OF THE DEGREE OF PROTECTION AGAINST SPLASHES PRODUCED DURING THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS BY A FLEXIBLY POSITIONED MEDICAL SCREEN FOR USE IN MEDICINE.

The objective was to analyze the degree of protection that our FlexiHealth® partition provides to the professional, quantifying as far as possible the splashes that could be retained or rejected by the partition instead of reaching the toilet.

It should be noted that there is no standardized method or previous work on which to base this measurement study.

To carry it out, AIDIMME had the collaboration of the Dental Clinic Doctor José Luis García Ortiz of Alaquàs (Valencia).

Test method

  • After preliminary inspection of the product, a representative intervention in a dental practice was selected.

  • Ten oral cleanings were performed. Five of them without a partition between the patient and the dentist, and another five with a partition between the patient and the dentist. Si se puede poner galería de 3 fotos, bien.

  • Gravimetry was used to determine the degree of protection of the screen, indicating the amount of projections, splashes and aerosols generated that do not reach the dentist or dental hygienist.

  • Surveys were also conducted with patients and the dental hygienist to determine their degree of satisfaction with the use of the FlexiHealth® protection screen during the procedure.

What were the results obtained?

The study considers that the aerosol effect generated during the treatment is accentuated by the use of illumination that falls directly on the screen. This circumstance favors the immediate evaporation of the aerosols, preventing a correct quantification of the projections.

Nevertheless, the values recorded for the barrier effect of the screen indicate that splashes and projections of the order of 6 mg on average are retained.

100% of patients rated the use of the screen between patient and dental hygienist positively.

The questionnaire survey of the dental hygienist and the patients revealed that the use of protective equipment is well received by all of them, since they consider that it provides additional safety to the other measures adopted in the dental office.

Likewise, the dental hygienist was satisfied with the product and would totally agree to recommend it.

Conclusions

For AIDIMME, “The use of the Flexihealth® medical safety screen is positively valued by professionals and patients and constitutes a suitable protective barrier that complements the other safety measures that are adopted.”

“The device has been rated very positively for its efficiency, design, quality and sustainability.”
